Seven Pounds | March 15, 2010

All I have to say about this movie is WOW. I’ve never been so moved by a movie until Seven Pounds came along. It was a great emotional movie, there was no reason or knowledge to it, it was just made for emotion. Will Smith, who is the lead role in the film, did such a great job and definitely deserved an Oscar for his performance. The movie starts off when Ben Thomas (Will SMith) is on the phone to 911. He feels like he has no more reason to live when he’s having flashbacks that take place through the whole movie. You don’t know where he’s at or what he’s doing you just get the feeling that he’s going to kill himself. You will probably get frustrated in the first hour and a half of the movie because it doesn’t really explain to you what’s going on, but it all makes since at the end.

There are seven strangers that Ben Thomas is watching over very closly to through the film.  You dont know why he is watching these people, but you feel bad for all of them. For instance, there is one stranger who Ben Thomas talks to in the beginning that is a blind telemarketer who is played by one of my favorite actors Woody Harrelson. Ben Thomas is talking to him because he is unhappy about the package that he got from the company that Woody Harrelson works at. Ben Thomas finds out that he’s blind and starts making fun of him to the point that you think he is going to kill himself. I’ve never been so mad at a start of the film than this one.

I recommend Seven Pounds to everybody. If your ever in the mood for a depressing inspirational movie then there is none better than this one. You will be an emotional reck at the end of the film, but it will very much be worth it.
